What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture treats the whole body, aiming to uncover and address the root of illness beyond symptoms. Each treatment is tailored to your individual situation, lifestyle, and needs — supporting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

What is Qi?

At the core of this ancient medicine is the philosophy that Qi (pronounced “chee”) or vital energy, flows throughout the body. Qi moves us, it protects us from illness, pain, and disease. Our health is influenced by the quality, quantity, and balance of Qi.

Acupuncture for Cancer Treatments

Some chemotherapy drugs are known to cause peripheral neuropathy, a type of nerve damage that can include pain, numbness, weakness, and tingling. Pain in general is one of the most common and feared symptoms for cancer patients and survivors. Acupuncture plays an important role in relief from cancer and musculoskeletal pain. Stress, anxiety, and sleep issues are also all common symptoms that can severely affect quality of life. Acupuncture helps the distress and greatly improves anxiety, depression, hot flashes, and fatigue. Nausea and vomiting are other common side effects of chemotherapy. Acupuncture has been proved to be more effective than ondansetron, a common drug used to treat both.
