Gentle Start to the New Year

Hello,

I hope this finds you warm and nourished. I wanted to send over some suggestions, plus a recipe to help you feel well supported for the new year and beyond!

Rest > Resolutions

It’s always funny to me how holidays come right alongside Winter Solstice. During Winter Solstice, we observe the darkness, light candles, stay under blankets with warm cups of tea. We embrace the stillness. Pretty opposite to the hurried, frantic pace many of us find ourselves running during the holidays. So now that we are in the homestretch, may we return to the lit candles. It’s okay to not have as much energy for doing all the things. It’s a season for moving towards input over output. Take baths, hold warm cups of tea against your belly, wear slippers, breathe in gratitude. Incorporate gentle stretching, find the beauty in ordinary stillness. Give yourself and others some love.

Happy New Year, and I look forward to great things for all of us in 2026.

W/ metta,
Laura
